More time with Marie

While in Chicago, Dreyfuss spent some more time with his to be owner, Marie. We met Marie at a therapeutic riding stable and worked on Dreyfuss's commands as well as his exposure to horses. Dreyfuss worked on walking with Marie and her walker as well as listening to other commands from her. They both had a wonderful time together!

Boy Scout Camp

Dreyfuss went camping in Northern Wisconsin after another flight into Chicago. He went to the Order of the Arrow Vigil Fire at Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation. There were many people dressed in tribal indian regalia and a very large bonfire. Dreyfuss's training was tested by all of these distractions but he did great! He also spent time on the horse ranch with a herd of 10 horses and 3 chickens.

Flight back to North Carolina

Dreyfuss had another successful flight yesterday. He slept the whole trip and didn't seem to notice the take off or landing.

Dreyfuss also got to spend some more time with his owner, Marie, where we tested some of his skills and he learned some new ones. Dreyfuss did very well with heeling with her wheelchair and walker and already is doing great with his "brace" command. We are very excited with how well he is doing and can't wait to see how he will continue to prosper!

Dreyfuss attends a bridal shower and meets Marie!

Dreyfuss had a very busy Saturday. He attended a bridal shower where by association he became one of the hosts. At this bridal shower he met his "to be" owner Marie. They clicked together well and we are excited to have them work together!

Dreyfuss goes to school

Dreyfuss spent time today at one of the local elementary schools teaching kids about service animals! He taught the kids what a service animal does as well as the proper way to act when they see a service animal in public. He spent time in the classrooms and on the playground during recess. He was exhausted after teaching so he went home and took a nap! Overall it was a very successful day for his training as well as a great learning experience for the kids!

Dreyfuss flew from Raleigh to Chicago yesterday! It was his first flight and he did exceptionally well! The only part he did not like was getting frisked, but who can blame him. He squeezed in very nicely right in front of my seat and slept the whole flight. I could not be happier with his progress!

Tomorrow Dreyfuss will be making his first big step as a service dog in training by making a flight to Chicago. He has been doing well in stores, restaurants, and other public places but this will be a major event for him! We are very excited to see how he does and have been taking lots of training steps to get him ready for this trip. We will keep you all updated!!
